No, they disappeared earlier. After the second of the two fourdoor-Passat I (one 74' Sedan, one 76'Hatchback), my father had owned, was destroyed in an accident in 1983, I've already noticed, that less and less of them existed. For a while there were some two-door-cars, owned by grandpas and some rough Variants in all-day-use, but until the late 80ies most of them were gone, too. Until the mid-90ies the 1978-predececessor with the plastic bumpers was extinct, too. Also the fan-scene for the Passat I appeared quite late, first in the late 90ies. |
