The main picture shows a BMW Typ 325 (1937-40) version of the le. gl. Einheits-Pkw. A unified chassis (Einheits-Fahrgestell I für leichten Personenkraftwagen) and body was used, white the engines, lubrication and electrical components were make specific. Next to BMW this vehicle was produced by Hanomag (Typ 20 B (1937-40)) and Stoewer (R 180 Spezial (1936-38), R 200 Spezial (1938-49), Typ 40 (1940-43)). Until 1940 this chassis used a four-wheel-steering. There were some body variations. Here we see a Funkkraftwagen (radio-car) Kfz.2. The small picture should get it's own page, as it is a m. gl. Einheits-Pkw, Kfz.15, early version with ramp protection axle. These early versions were built under two Auto Union AG brands (Horch 901 (1937-40) or Wanderer 901 (1937-40)) or by the Adam Opel AG (Opel Typ mPl (1940-43)). The very first examples had no doors and were known as Kfz.12. |
