The "Super" trim comes from the reg. plates database I guess. Interesting there was version "Mirafiori Super" next to "Supermirafiori" (which this one isn't by the visible trim or rather lack of it). Side strips in this place are also unusual like for the 1981+ car. |

UK had 1600 Super 4 door with 1585cc twin cam from May 78, black wrapround bumpers and tints (as here) until Jan 82 range facelift when it disappeared (so an 81 car here). In Oct 78 2 door Saloon Sport with 1995cc twin cam arrived which was revised in Jan 82 facelift to become 2000 Super (still 2 door only) until dropped Oct 83 |

1981, as late pre-facelifted and 2nd series car, fits much better to what we see on the pic and the side trim. Anyway if it is 2nd series car, the grille is not original, as it comes from the 3rd series car - intro in most countries with the 1981 MY (it had longer bumpers, big plastic side protectors and no upper side molding). Now, with such trim like on the pic (except the mentioned grille), the 2nd series car was badged/called "Supermirafiori". The "Mirafiori Super" is just a way to organize them, in source you are using, I believe. British brochure uses "Supermirafiori" name too. -- Last edit: 2015-01-23 01:26:54 |

Source is Glass's, which also mentions 1600 Super Estate (with 1585cc twin cam) Nov 79 - Jan 82. Their referencing to these 3 Super versions is quite specific to the twin cams and is not used for "normal" CL versions. But Fiat UK don't seem to have studied Glass's very closely when designing their brochures, so happy to run with your info/naming . |

That's ok, as CL was simply "Mirafiori" still. So Glass only changed order of words in the "Supermirafiori" name. |
