1929 Chevrolet International Model AC or 1930 Chevrolet Universal Model AD Pilou, how to spot the differences ? |

The Chevrolet Universal Series AD of 1930 was extremely similar to the International Series AC of 1929.Both rode on a 107 inches wheelbase .Externally the principal difference was a somewhat slanter windshield on all 1930 cars , but this cannot be spotted here because it is a 4 door 5 passenger phaeton with its windshield folded on the pictures. The 1930 cars adopted hydraulic shock absorbers and an electric dash fuel gauge , not visible. My view is that it is a 1930 car because of the tire size :in 1930 the tire size was changed from 4.50 X 20 inches to 4.75 X 19 inches. 4.50 X 20 inches appear slimmer and of larger diameter than apparently seen here.So I go for a Chevrolet Universal Series AD 4 door 5 passenger phaeton of 1930 ( production run 1713 units) |
