According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holden_Torana, if it is a SLR 5000 I guess it is 1974 LH -- Last edit: 2007-01-06 20:41:16 |

Model code is either [LH] or [LX]. I don't know if it is a genuine SL/R 5000, even though it has the stripes and decals. Only the competition version SL/R 5000 L34 had the bolt on flares, to accomodate larger tyres for racing. Like most muscle cars, it was quite common to add bits to ordinary models to make them look like the real deal. These flares were commonly fitted to ordinary Toranas and non L34 SL/Rs, so common in fact that most people don't realise that SL/Rs didn't have flares. This one also had an aftermarket fibreglass nose cone, probably by the same company that made the Pontiac nosecone for the bigger Holdens /vehicle_78552-Holden-1-Tonner-HQ.html and the "Concorde" nose cone for the Mad Max Interceptor http://img386.imageshack.us/my.php?image=xb0121528wt.jpg -- Last edit: 2007-01-07 02:56:04 |
