The last window of the cabin is shorter than the others= 45 seater. The width looks like 96 inches instead of 102 inches. Only five of 45 built had 8 cyl engine, i go for a six. It has air condition=symbol one. 45...096...6...1. Flxible 45096-6-1 .

Appears to be one of the SCRTD 4300s with electronic destination signs - 1973 Flxible 111DD-D06-1 (same as 45096-6-1, but before the mid-1973 change in model designations).

The 4300s and 73-7400s (1975 53102-8-1) did after their mid-1980s rebuilding. They had water filled bumpers before then.

I am convinced about 111DD-DO6-1. Can you give a lesson about another Flxible F2D6V 401-1? What does the letters mean?

D06 (zero), no O.

The FD system, circa 1960-68:

F = Flxible
2 = 102 inches wide; nothing = 96 inches wide
D = Diesel; P = Propane
6V = Detroit Diesel 6V71; 47 = Detroit Diesel 4-71; 8VC = Cummins 165-285
5 = Built in Evergreen, AL; T = T-Drive; nothing = V-drive & built in Loudonville, OH (except FD47s also built in Evergreen, but no 5)
-
31, 33, 35, 40 = length
1 = Transverse mounted engine (all buses)
-
1 = Transit; 3 = ?; 7 = Suburban
-
UL = Luggage Bays; nothing = no luggage bays
-
AC = Air conditioning; nothing = non-AC.

The next model designation, circa 1966-73 is:

1 = Built in Loudonville, OH; 4 = Built in Evergreen, AL (except San Bernardino #800-814 are 411s but were built in Loudonville)
1 = Transit bus (all buses)
1 = Transverse mounted engine (all buses)
C = 40 ft; D = 35 ft; G = 31 ft; H = 30 ft
C = 102" wide; D = 96" wide
-
C1 = Cummins 190-265; C3 = Cummins 903; D1 = Detroit Diesel 4-71; D4 = Detroit Diesel 6V71 T-drive; D5 (D05 in 1972-73) = Detroit Diesel 6V71 V-drive; D6 (D06 in 1972-73) = Detroit Diesel 8V71 V-drive
