I first thought to a 1941 Dodge WC-Something, due to the cab park lamps (which were located at the same place on the civilian 1941-47 Dodge trucks). But something was wrong with the hood slope and the fender shape. And I remember another similar "Dodge problem" and its solution: When something is wrong with the first vehicle you think about, just try with its successor. Hello, Dodge Power Wagon! Apparently made from 1946 to 1968, but some specialists may certainly narrow this scope with some details? 4x4peru? |

Yes Elmer This is a Dodge Power-Wagon. Same basic look for entire production run of this "Flat fender" style. Primary visual differences were in the cargo bed design. Early 4 post straight, then 3 post curved w/a slant top bed & 3 post straight w/a flat topped bed. In 1961 the 230 engine was replaced w/a longer 251 cu in engine requiring the radiator and grille to be moved forward. The 251 trucks have the grille extend rather than flush like the earlier ones. Very little to go on from this pic except the 3 bows in the rear are most likely installed into 3 post slots in the bed. An educated guess for this pic would begin at 1951 for the 3 post bed. However beginning 1946 represents the entire line of flat fender Power-Wagons. |

I hesitated to use that "3 bows ⇒ 3-post bed" guess as a clue when giving a MY to this truck. Hence the 1946 only until now. But as you confirm my first thought... -- Last edit: 2015-04-18 02:36:43 |
