As it is two-tone painted car, more probable is 1961 (up to May/June) - they started this painting variety late November/early December 1960 only. |

In case of the early Syrenas it is better to mark this type of changes with the date/year of implementation for production (so 1960 in this one). "Rounding" of years in situation when we had so many modifications made in these cars in short time intervals could lead to confusion. Also, despite FSO did some attempts with the "Model Year" system in the late 1950s Warszawas, it finally started to mark next versions of own cars with these 10x/20x designations. -- Last edit: 2017-02-15 15:57:03 |

I wonder if you realize, that FSO also made on-tone painted 101s in 1961/62 - I've lately seen an illustrated report in "Motor" dated February 62 with the photos of selling place at "Motozbyt" full of late 101s (those with the short boot lid). Despite very poor photos' quality it was pretty clear that the bodies were on-tone painted. |

Yes, I'm able to imagine that some 101 (and not only 101s) not always looked in 100% like were meant to according to various sources. I listed once this 101 with non-white roof (of course it could be repainted in the meantime - and rather it was - but owner could kept the original paint scheme). -- Last edit: 2017-02-23 21:48:55 |
