looks like GM forgot to add a little something.... ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-05-31 02:15:14 |

CHMSL? |

It is supposed to have one here, but it is gone ![]() |

yes...( but somebody taking it out would be more realistic than GM forgetting to put it or was on a rack on the trunklid that got removed ) |

It was clearly removed. If you look closely, you can see a gap in the paneling where it should be. Probably a crude removal job. |

maybe was not working anymore and taking it out was cheaper than buy another light bulb... ( but still could left it in there ..) ![]() |

As I understand that some GM model did sold without the CHMSL at the rear window with an optional boot rack with CHMSL on it. I had 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais with an optional rack on the boot that contains CHMSL and I didn't have the CHMSL insert by the rear window. |

yeah, GM offered this on a lot of models. were they really useful ? |

But wouldn't models not equipped with the boot rack with the CHMSL on it still have a CHSML in the rear window, since it was mandated by the NHTSA starting with the 1986 model year? |

should have, yes. somebody without something to do with his spare time took it out... -- Last edit: 2015-05-31 03:11:52 |

This one has the 1993-94 taillights. The CHMSL was probably removed by the film producers to show more of the character in the car. |

looks a very plausible theory ( even if it wouldn't hide that much of him.... ) ( not sure if plausible is the good word to use.. ) -- Last edit: 2015-05-31 03:22:04 |
