If I'm not mistaken, Fargo PAL (Premiere Automobiles Ltd) trucks and buses were based on Dodge Kew (UK) models, so it's more likely an imported model. But unlike in the other countries, both Dodge and Fargo trucks were apparently sold in India, which doesn't help At first sight, this one is based on a 1948-53 Dodge B-Series or its Fargo equivalent F-Series, with the 1948-50 grille. • If a Dodge, its accurate name would be FS / GS / HHS / JS or RS, depending on the wheelbase and the number of passenger. I don't know if it should then be given the generic S-Series model name (which would be the one for the 1957+ Dodge school buses); • If a Fargo... In fact, I don't know if this make sold buses... At second sight, the hood end emblem looks a lot more like a globe than a ram, which would indicate a Fargo bus. The bulges at the center of the grille bars could also be the Fargo ones: it could be worth to check it closely for future disambiguations. ⇒ 1948 Fargo F-Series, until we find the real name for the buses (if any)? _____ Edit: Fargo doesn't have a country of origin automatically linked to it, so I gave it here a Model origin: US. The Fargo trucks were indeed sold with a "Chrysler Corporation - Export Division - Detroit" mention (see the last page of this -already linked- Fargo brochure), and they were mostly rebadged Dodge model. Were they all built in Canada? -- Last edit: 2015-06-14 01:52:42 |
