@ JB: Peterbilt logo, not the Freightliner one If I'm not mistaken, the visible hoses between the air cleaners and the hood would make it a 359 model... But it seems to have the headlamps of some 379 models, and as far as I see, the above mentioned hoses are longer on 359 trucks... A 1987-2007 379 without hose bezels? |

1987-2004 379-119. The air intake goes directly into the cowl as opposed to a 359. In addition to the headlights, the wipers are also different on a 359 vs 379. 2004 was the last year of the door-mounted mirrors. |

Once known, some details become indeed obvious (359 // 379 - The wipers difference. Note also the visible air cleaner hoses on the 359) Thanks for this new clue, Truck117! (Sadly, none of these 2 details are visible on this truck. Any other hint to differentiate the 2 models?) -- Last edit: 2015-06-17 03:26:20 |

Those are the most noticeable exterior difference between the 359 and 379. Some would say the headlights, but since around the turn of the century, many 379 owners replace the quad square headlights in favour of the retro round duals. If left as stock, the difference would be ID'd by the location of the turn signal. The 379's signal is attached to the headlight assembly as opposed to the 359 (like the 359 you posted), it is mounted on the fender. The dash layout is vastly different as well. As far as this truck is concerned, you can see the wiper arms resting on the lower portion of the windshield which is a contributing factor to this being a 379. |
