Can't read the plate, and these are impossible for 46+ 1800/49 2000/50+ Renown so some coin-tossing likely. Black-over-blue across road is Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire 346 but too poor to capture. |

52+ Renown Mk2 had wider rear window so can be excluded. Decided to go for 2000 as we don't have any 2000 saloon Razor-edge, so might as well have one as reference. Razor-edge chassis codes seem to be: 1800 - 3999 made March 46 - Feb 49 = TD 2000 - 2000 (exact number) made Feb 49 - Oct 49 = TDA Renown Mk1 (saloon) - 6501 made Oct 49 - Jan 52 = TDB Renown Mk2 (saloon) - 2609 (or 2800) made Jan 52 - Dec 54 = TDC Renown Mk2 Limousine - 190 made Oct 51 - Oct 52 = TDC as well While I'm here I'll post 1800/2000 Roadster info 1800 Roadster - 2501 made March 46 - Feb 49 = TRD 2000 Roadster - 2000 made Oct 48 - Oct 49 (so slight overlap with 1800 Roadster) = TRA And an unexpected bit of trivia I found while looking all this up, the 1776cc engine in the 1800s started as a commission by SS Jaguar from Standard Motor Company for use in the 1½ Litre saloon/DHC from 1938 onwards until ending in March 49. |
