zodiac ◊ 2015-07-03 15:32	I've a book called "Model List" or "Baumuster-Liste" in German, Edition F, 1972. According to that the L stands for Lastkraftwagen, translated as Truck in English, but also HGV can be used. And the S stands for, as andrepa stated, Sattelschlepper, translated into semitrailer in English. That is a Truck that has a possibility to attach a trailer. Hence I agree with "LS", but how do you know what engine is fitted?

zodiac ◊ 2015-07-03 22:35	Thank's all for the information, but when trying to have a look on the various models, one much more fundamential question pops up. What does L52 stand for? I cannot find any references to the L52 on the Internet, that is information I can trust, and I cannot find it in the book. -What year was the L52 first used, and when was it stopped being used? -Is L52 a reference created by Mercedes themselves or is it short for the engine OM 352 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_OM352_engine ? One reason for my question is that the L6600, or the L5400 http://camionargentino.blogspot.se/2013/10/mercedes-benz-l-5400.html looks much the same as the L325.

It must be a secret, jealously guarded by some admins My idea is to have it classified with its siblings, and then wait until someone find the accurate series name: it will then be easier to modify all similar vehicles. And I don't see the point to have it staying as unknown when identified and as it only lacks a kind of impossible to distinguish from similar models name...
andrepa ◊ 2015-07-04 12:58	dear eLMeR here in Germany everyone is familiar with nicks like Langhauber, if we just could ad in the extra info? the very intersting heavy duty LS 334 in your reference seems to be interims version with modernized Wackenhut cab non split window, although have to admit, still an Langhauber , Mercedes allways introduced new technic with established series... ours is a older model 1954 LS 315 or 325 more likely. -- Last edit: 2015-07-04 13:01:07

The trouble is that there is for now nothing to connect this truck to its "siblings", when written this way, all the more as it makes it the only one of its kind.
