Since this MY this black plastic mirror was used. Although, if we look at the 1980 MY brochures there is small chaos with these mirrors in case of wagons. Some wagons had old one, some already this one. EDIT: a bit too late. ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-08-01 22:08:58 |

CxClubDeFrance.com (fr) says that only the 2400 GTI had these mirrors at first. They may have been introduced gradually in the rest of the car line. -- Last edit: 2015-08-01 22:27:25 |

The time difference rather wasn't big. In French and British brochures for 1979 MY GTI still has chromed mirror. Then in FR brochure for 1980 MY it already has it black, like most models since this year (e.g. in Prestige it stayed chromed). But possibe that GTI had it few months before other versions. |
