The International Harvester S-Series "Schoolmaster" is a Type C (conventional) bus chassis that was manufactured by International Harvester and then Navistar International from 1979 to 1989...The body mounted on it is separate from the chassis...So if one wants to be nitpicky International S-Series Schoolmaster with a Wayne Lifeguard body.. |

Which seems to be the case here, if I'm not mistaken. That name was already used by its predecessor, the Loadstar. And from what I can see, it was even sold as "Schoolmaster only" when it was unveiled in 1979: ![]() (1979 Schoolmaster brochure cover) I didn't find other literature about if for now... Giving it its real name is trying to be as accurate as possible. Giving it a non-checked and not really useful coachbuilder body name is being nitpicky ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-08-20 21:13:54 |

The body mounted on said chassis is more important to some ![]() |

By the way, if an International Harvester vehicle (who changed it that way?), it would have been a 1979-86 model. But it appears to be part of the 1987-89 International models: its a 1988 bus rented by Studio Picture Vehicles. |
