Props people didn't make a perfect job : as said here, it deserves only a "well imitated". As far as I know, and from what the concerned administration says, no Nissan were ever bought for the Gendarmerie Nationale. And this one, with the brand new color scheme (which will take some times before being seen on each vehicle), has also a fake plate: the 2009+ French plate system implies 3 digit in the center block, so 7K3 isn't possible. And HB-xxx-VC plate numbers are not scheduled before April 2022 ![]() @ antp: as already said, giving advices to movie and series makers could be a good way to earn money ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-09-14 02:23:24 |

@ eLMer> Good remark, was French and a big fan of vehicles of Police or gendarmerie of the world. These imitations irritate me slightly. But even the French productions or sometimes the evil respected the reality. ![]() Example: /vehicle_846147-Land-Rover-Freelander-L22-2001.html In Gendarmerie, a lot of "Defender" but never "Freelander". /vehicle_796071-Mitsubishi-Pajero-V20-1997.html /vehicle_707612-Mitsubishi-Pajero-V20-1997.html /vehicle_816286-Mitsubishi-Pajero-V20-1997.html Never Mitsubishi Pajero in Gendarmerie. I would be curious to know the vehicle used for the national police force (that we perceive in the angle). Furthermore, It is rare to see the national police force and the gendarmerie together on a scene as this one.;) However allows I to contradict you on this "no Nissan were ever bought for the Gendarmerie Nationale". The Gendarmerie Nationale use Nissan Pathfinder (DOM-TOM)and Nissan Navara (Mountain Patrol and Republican Guard). http://i.skyrock.net/7748/23487748/pics/2654159502_2_10_UhDewTsg.jpg https://www.flickr.com/photos/arnaudgabriel/7573497474/ http://up.autotitre.com/aa3c925f66.jpg https://www.flickr.com/photos/32596322@N06/9294252913 In the end, he would have been more credible to use one Ford Focus or a Ford C-Max (available on the USA). Let's see here some improvement when compared with a 1980-90 TV-Series: we would then see a 2Cv and a DS as police and Gendarmerie cars, plus a Renault 4 Fourgonnette as ambulance ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-10-03 21:45:43 |

Was the Versa/Tiida even sold in France? (A few made it to the UK as unofficial imports from Ireland by Arnold Clark (a car dealership group) but they weren't offered by Nissan) |

It was sold here as the Tiida, but was extremely unsuccessful and disappeared from the market four years ago. -- Last edit: 2015-10-03 21:32:04 |

If I'm not mistaken (but I didn't care a lot about new cars at that time), the Tiida / Versa was never sold in metropolitan France. _____ About the fortifications in background: the action is said to take place in the Fort de Châtillon (fr). French administration is sometimes (often? ![]() ![]() Does anyone know where this was shot, in reality? Is it a former fortification of the American Civil War? -- Last edit: 2015-10-03 22:20:10 |

It's somewhere in Louisiana, so it might be a French or Spanish colonial structure. -- Last edit: 2015-10-04 00:05:40 |

@ Gag Halfrunt: It appears to be Fort Macomb, a US fort built in 1822: ![]() ![]() (Fort Macomb in 2006 // in the episode in 2015 - 00:30:57 - The electric pylon is hidden by the small tree, but is clearly visible less than one second earlier) The bridge visible in the "Sprinter scene" is the Chef Menteur Pass railroad bridge. -- Last edit: 2015-10-04 00:06:33 |

Badge taped over is the 1.8 SL one. Nice job everyone on the research above for indicating this is indeed a US location. |
