I believe it's a 1955 Coupe DeVille, but I should perhaps save this one for somebody like Mr. Cadillac. The car on the left appears to be a 1958 ElDorado Brougham. |

The year is correct, "Skid" (1955), but the model is the "Series 62" convertible, not the "Coupe de Ville". The scene from the movie is intended to depict a Cadillac showroom in 1958; you can see quite clearly, on the circular display table (above the heads of "Buddy Holly" and his co-musician) some individual views of Cadillac models drawn from that year's (1958) prestige, full color product brochure. So the other car in the picture (far left) could well be an Eldorado Brougham model from 1958 although it's hard to tell it apart from the 1957 model without a close look at the design of the interior door panels and door hinges. On the other hand, the car in the foreground (the 1953 "Le Mans" prototype) was modified to look like this in mid-1959, so there is a problem with the time-line. |
