Is it possible to distinguish from rear between a 1954 and a 1956 Châtelaine? |

The rear door opening is a clue to tell an early model (top part opens at the roof gutter level) from a later one (it opens above the roof line): (1953 Commerciale / 1954-5? Chatelaine // 1958 Chatelaine) The problem is to know when the change occurred: the few "1956" brochures and ads I found show the old opening, but nothing in these documents can confirm the 1956 model year. The change was made for sure for the 1957 MY, as there is both a picture of the new opening and a 1957 mention in the concerned documents. My screen can't be trusted when the details depend on light and contrast like here: I can't help to see what kind of door opening has this car, sorry. _____ Off-topic: I found these ads about a (1962+?) Australian Aronde station wagon, while searching: (Click...) Was it sold elsewhere? -- Last edit: 2015-10-02 04:18:24 |

By the rounded end of the front wing, I'd say a 1954-55 Model. |
