437 BMR = WHITE 2006 MERCEDES CVS ATEGO 815 DAY BOX VAN. Thinking this could be very late Vanden Plas EFi, but away from home so can't check (or exclude possible Vitesse)

Still think VDP EFi as introduced May 84 after checking book descriptions, but does not have Sept 85 side indicators.

It has box velour a rare no cost option on VP Efi-so in reality it is more a SE.They say 3500SE - but i thought 2600SE Link to "www.scoobynet.com"

Glass's says May 84 2600SE and 3500SE were replaced by 2600 VdP and 3500 VdP. Both VdPs got the new aerodynamic wheel arches seen here plus the rubber block headlamp washers; the confusing thing for me is whether or not it has windscreen tint. 3500 VdP apparently had bronze, but 2600 VdP did not. So I'm comfortable with May 84 VdP, but open to switching to 2600 if tint info can be confirmed. I don't know figures but would suspect 2600 VdP the rarer of the two.

And Efi have Vitesse alloys( and 84 would actually be an early one.Very late ones are rare 86)

I see that the Rover appears to have series 1 dark brown front seats and series 2 lighter coloured rear seats.

Apparently the actor who played Bob, George Costigan, didn't have a full driving license and so a crew member who was qualified had to hide in the footwell of the car during the driving shots on public roads!

I have just watched this film again - one of my all time favourites! This SD1 was definitely a V8, as you can hear from the soundtrack! The reason for the Mk1 front seats being fitted was that these could quicky be put in the recline position by simply pulling a lever. SD1 Mk2 seats recliner mechanism worked by turning a handwheel - so fully reclining the seats would have taken ages!
