1998-2004 STS. On Carfax the plate is listed to a 2011 BMW Z4 SDRIVE35i. bar.ca.gov has it listed as 1982 Ford LTD Wagon, 1997 Plymouth Voyager, 1998 Ford F150 Regular Cab and 2006 Nissan 350z. So it looks like the plate is either fake or got switched around.

Probably an optical illusion that looks brighter than you think, Baube. But, the colour temperature of these light bulb seems to be running half power similar to my Chevrolet Aveo with the headlights switch off.

yeah, in some lighting circumstances they can look brighter ( close to sunset or cloudy sky for example ) .. :think:
