Bonnet = the cover over the engine of a motor vehicle.
Hood = the cover over the passenger compartment of a convertible motor vehicle.
Trunk = the thing on the front of an elephant.
Boot = the thing at the back of a car in which you put your suitcases.

One set of words, two languages. There’s no point in getting too wound up by any of it, in general we all speak in the way in which our countrymen do. There is, however, one import which really causes me some grief, which is the increasing amount of media interviews which commence with the interviewee saying in ingratiating tones “thank you for having me”. What did we miss?

i guess its a way to say " Thanks for giving me my few minutes of fame and help me boost my amount of followers on social medias along the way " for some

But for the ones who are regularly on TV, don't know...

i think even in hockey they're starting to do so ..

I’m waiting for one of the presenters to say “Glad you enjoyed being had!”
