Single paint colour suggests Zephyr Mk2 rather than Zodiac, radiator appears to be covered with something which doesn't help. Could be either, but not a Consul. -- Last edit: 2015-12-16 20:20:08 |

I believe this is rather a Zodiac than a Zephyr, because of the grille. Please compare: - Zephyr 1958 (1956-57 had a different grille, 1959+ had chromed headlight surrounding) Link to "vpstestbringatrailercom.c.presscdn.com" . - Zodiac 1956-58 (minute differences between the years, 1959+ had chromed headlight surrounding) http://www.classiccarcatalogue.com/F/ford%20gb%201957%20zodiac.jpg I admit that not many Zodiacs were painted in one colour, if any https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11RvAsiP8zQ (at about 3.00 min), but some two tone paint work can look like as a single colour at a distance, like the one on the right in this https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5495/9471324120_10f8c17982_b.jpg picture. It was probably not common, but I believe some strange combinations were available at the time. I have a period book which lists all the combinations, but unfortunately I've lent it to a friend. -- Last edit: 2015-12-17 21:53:14 |
