we had both Custom 500 and LTD, Custom was single headlight while LTD had double but 500 lasted only 2 or 3 years -- Last edit: 2015-03-08 10:28:36 |

Yep the Custom 500 was 1979-1982 In canada, and so was the Fullsize LTD. it's the same as the 79-82 LTD S and 79-82 LTD/LTD Landau/LTD Crown Victoria. It went like this: 1979 Ford LTD is what most know as an LTD S if they know of it that is. In Canada it was called the Custom 500. In 1979 the Luxury LTD was called the LTD Landau which was the 4 Headlight Version of the LTD S, on the LTD S however there was a 4 Headlight option, which is why it was called only the LTD in 1979. In 1980 It was The LTD S (two headlight) the LTD (4 headlight LTD S) and the LTD Crown Victoria (the landau replacement) this was the same until 1982, minor updates from 79-82 was 79-80 is aero mirrors like on my 1979 Ford LTD 2 Headlight that I own, 81-82 was the same mirrors as 83-87 LTD Crown Victoria's. 79-82 was the same grill only difference is 82 added an oval however this was NOT the 1983 Honey Comb Grill it was the same grill as 79-81 just with an oval. 83-87 they deleted everything except the LTD Crown Victoria and the LTD S was non existant while the LTD was a midsized foxbody car from 83-86 and then there was no LTD. please excuse my grammar and that |
