A much-battered 1937 LaSalle Series 38-50 159" wheelbase commercial chassis fitted with a Sayers and Scovill 'Damascus Carved Panel Funeral Coach' body. The extra chrome pieces around the grille were supposed to 'mask the car's identity and eliminate year marks to extend the styling life' according to "80 Years of Cadillac LaSalle" (Crestline book). |

It's a 1938, not a 1937. It's down left on page 221 of "80 Years of Cadillac LaSalle" from Crestline Editions. |

Whoops, my mistake, I meant to put 1938 - as I put Series 38-50. |

As they were all built on the commercial chassis and "Sayers and Scovill" was the company's name rather than their trade name, we should go by the common name "S&S Damascus". |
