No trace of SBY 408R on check sites but was genuine Feb 77 London issue |

I may be wrong but my gut feeling says (decent) replica, not only because of the shape/colour of the steering wheel on the 5th thumb. -- Last edit: 2016-01-28 00:36:49 |

I'd go for replica too. Plate from a donor car/Beetle? There weren't really UK sales of Speedster Replicas until the early 80s. -- Last edit: 2016-01-28 00:50:26 |

Replica indeed, much like a 1956-57 356 A (flat rocker panels) Taillights introduced mid-MY1957, but shine-down was then replaced with a shine-up license plate light. The dash is not the normal one (should have a huge rev counter in the top center, for a start) and the badges are missing. But the one badge visible, the crest in front, is not the Porsche crest (similar from a distance, but flipped and altered) |
