Cortina in the UK, XL or GXL judging by the front grille.

PF 125p. It looks to me like late 1977+ black framed badge and 1977+ color "żonkil".

Since mid-1981 also the badge was different in UK - and IMO it is not this one.
Anyway there is nothing in visible trim what exclude pre-1981 "Polski Fiat 125p".
This is how "British" 125p could look eg. in 1976: /vehicle_102192-Polski-Fiat-125p-115C6-1976.html (same like Polish version BTW) - the same details.
The grille is of type used since 1975.

Looks like FPW plate which came with T in April-May 79 and Y in March-July 83. My hunch is that this is a 1300 (launched here June 81) although can't really explain why except it just looks poverty and a later plastic grille.

Edit - renamed FSO 1300 to match our small set of UK sightings and dated to 1983 for the plate. But noted it does not have the big side indicators introduced some time in 83, and we have no identified UK FSO 1500 entries which should be more common from Jan 76 introduction here. Both 1300 and 1500 stopped here in June 90.

Episode aired in December 1982 and probably filmed some time earlier (late 1981 by the age of the newest cars?) so it's unlikely to be a 1983.

So 1979 1500?? And should we be pulling out things like /vehicle_102192-Polski-Fiat-125p-115C6-1976.html (as linked above) to create an FSO 1500 set??

So there were only 1500s in 1979 in UK? If so, then it is 1500 [115C.6].

You propose to rename the linked 1976 125p to FSO? No such need. 125p was branded "Polski Fiat" till mid-1981 in UK and till 1983 in other countries (including Poland, excluding Yugoslavia and Egypt, where it was assembled under local brands).

UK sequence:
- Jan 76 - saloon and estate 1500
- Oct 80 - saloon GLS added "vinyl roof, body side tapes"
- June 81 - saloon 1300 added
- June 81 again - everything rebranded under FSO, including Polonez hatch (launched Nov 78) - confirms comment above
- April 84 - 5-speed gearbox and 1500 saloon and estate uprated to 80bhp
- Aug 85 - electronic ignition fitted
- Jan 88 - 1500 saloon discontinued, leaving 1300 saloon and 1500 estate.
- June 90 - 1300 saloon and 1500 estate ended. Only Polonez hatch continued (I haven't included any of its changes from 78 onwards, but there were several)

No other running changes listed, such as big side indicators (83+), black hubcaps (83+) etc.

These changes could take a bit more time on export markets, I think mostly about the hubcaps, but also about the silver trim of indicators (which was present for example in France till the late 1980s).
It is also a bit confusing that the best known 1983 British brochure re-uses pics of a bit older cars.

Polonez was FSO from the beginning

Back to my previous comment - just for the record, as I see now, I could say this in a misleading way in context of your question about the FSO 1500 - sorry.

Here I of course meant that in 1979 it can be "Polski Fiat 125p 1500" and not "1500" as model name.
