A Van Hool or maybe a Jonckheere ? The film was shot in Belgium anyway, so a local bus is more than possible. |

I agree this is a Jonckheere coach, but not because of the above photo. http://busglobe.com/picture/3208 Please note (albeit being a city bus): - The side indicators just in front of the door, beneath the front window. - The front bumper divided in three segment, wherupon the middle is black and the other silver. - The bars in the grille that "goes around the corner" just above the bumper. For coaches: Link to "s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com" and http://www.bus-and-coach-photos.com/picture/number6158.asp Please note: - Chrome strip around the wheel arches. - General shape of the wheel arches. - Side strip above the wheel arches. - Waistline. - General shape of side windows and how the drivers side window is positioned in relation to the rest of the side windows. |

When searching the net I find plenty of DAF with Jonkheere bodies of this type, but not many other providers of chassis. And when comparing, they're sitting slightly different. That is the distance between the wheel arch and the side strip is slightly different and the distance from the road up to the coach works (ground clearance). Other (rare) manufacturers are; Volvo http://www.favcars.com/pictures-jonckheere-volvo-b58-60-154536.htm , Scania, Leyland https://www.flickr.com/photos/55286387@N05/23356989213 and Büssing http://www.advweb.nl/langs-de-wegen_bussing.html (fifth row, second column) . I find it very likely this is built on a DAF SB chassis, as many were, and that DAF SB should be used as default. Or is it better to leave it as unknown for the rest of the future? |
