@ supcoach: • The F-4 was a light-duty 1-ton model, and wasn't part of the heavy-duty (1½-ton F-5 and 2-ton F-6) nor of course of the extra-heavy-duty (2½-ton F-7 and 3-ton F-8) trucks. There were no medium-duty denomination for this 1948-52 truck line; • The Big Job "nickname" wasn't the one of the whole truck line, which was known as Bonus Built Line, nor the one of the "not light-duty" models. It was only used for the F-7 and F-8 models: ![]() ![]() ![]() (Excerpts of the 1952 truck line brochure) The "small" F-5 and F-6 can't therefore be identified as such. @ rjluna2: No more cowl side badge giving the model name from 1951 onwards, this latter was written in the hood end part of the hood side emblem (1951) or in the circle ending it (1952). _____ An F-4 could only have a 134"/3.40 m wheelbase, which sounds a bit short for the truck in the main pic. Heavy- and extra-heavy-duty models have different but really close short and medium wheelbases: 134"/154"/176" vs. 135"/147"/158"/178". So if I'm not mistaken, the exact model of "our" truck in the main picture can't be identified without a view of the hood side emblem or of the wheel rims. The Big Job complement shouldn't then be used. @elmer - Is it a 1952 model as you stated or a 1951 as posted?? My information came from "Ford Trucks Since 1905", a Crestline book. Looking at the vehicle above and the various models pictured (with captions) in the book it could be either an F-5, 6 or 7.. |

It's a 1952 model, but on a page made by modell. And I usually don't change "on the fly" identifications on pages made by other admins. We agree on the fact that it could be any model from the F-5 to the F-8, even if your 1st comment includes also the F-4, which is unlikely. I hope that you just misread some captions, that your book don't use Big Job for F-5 and F-6 models, and that it also mention F-8 trucks.
