Originaly it was the DB (Deutsch et Bonnet) LeMans, with a tuned Panhard flattwin. Charles Deutsch and René Bonnet "divorced" because Bonnet didn't like the Panhard-mechanics (too fragile...). Bonnet went on for its own; now the car was based on a Renault R4 chassis with the "1063" Renault engine, whereas Deutsch designed the marvellous Panhard CD. Btw, there is one René Bonnet Missile in Holland, owned by a member of the Panhard club... |
