That's true and untrue... They used to have department codes that were denoted by the combination of letters. So in Paris they had (instead of the actual "75") a plate like xxxx RX x (x being a number, RX being RB, RD, RE, RF, RG, RJ, RK, RL, RM, RN, RP, RQ, RS or RT. |

The little 2-door with the rear mounted spare wheel is a Simca 5, licensed from the Fiat 500 Topolino, the large sedan is a Citroën B14 or C4 from the late 20's. |
