When it gets stolen, the police officer, who turns out to be a Miata fan replies to him that this color was discontinued in 94, revealing the truth: this car is not a 95, and therefore can not be brand-new. The owner's lie is the revealed: he was trying to show off and was lying about his financial success. Plus, we learn later that the car was repossessed. In any case, the Miata used in the show is not British Racing Green.
STICH666 ◊ 2021-03-07 04:22	It's not a '93. This is a dual airbag car which was only available from '94-'97. The green paint is called Marina Green Mica and it was only found on the 1997 M-Edition although I believe this car was repainted as the interior door panels in other shots don't seem to have the extra padding by the shoulder that was a one year only feature in the '97.
