2nd Pirat on the site - at 1st glance both look identical (like the same car), but worth to notice this one has thicker safety bar (though of course still can be the same car, e.g. after some modifications). In this movie it is conjured up and driven by the witch... ! |

Looks very Marlin-like. Any connection or just coincidence? |

Yes, there was some link, as stated here: http://www.markas-motorsport.com.pl/ Nestor was introduced in 1995, it replaced the Pirat, produced since 1993 and based on Marlin's body style. One more thing I found in old paper catalogue "Samochody Świata '99". There was kit-car company named Amber Motors. Amber except own cars also assembled Nestors from JAK kits (in 1995/96 Pro Car changed its name to JAK) and sold them on its own. Judging by the pics, Amber cars differed from JAKs by the placed higher headlamps and round indicators placed on the top of bumper - both these things reminds what we see here in movie car. In other words very possible that Amber Motors assembled also older Pirats and this is car made by them. |

Honestly no idea what is hidden behind "based on Marlin's body style" - it can means a lot, after all Marlin also was influenced by Alfa Romeo. Compared to Marlins, Pirat body seems to be reshaped a little (a little too much at the back, where Marlins used to look better) and mechanically it could be based on FSO components. |
