Just a hypothetical question - once I added similar Slovak police Volkswagen Golf III, and somebody mentioned it might be produced by VW-plant in Bratislava.. Couldn't it be same by this car and in case of police Passat Variant added in this movie, too? |

Somebody had to be me. .gif ";)") /vehicle_926358-Volkswagen-Golf-Typ-1H-1993.html VW signed agreement with what was back then BAZ in may 1991 and assembly of Passat III Variant started there in 1992, it was soon followed by Golf III, which later, during the 1990s had to be the main product of VAG-BAZ (IIRC in the late 90s also Passat IV was assembled there for local needs). What need to be confirmed is, whether Czechoslovak/later Slovak police used Golfs III since 1992 or since 1993. If since 1993, then all of them were most possibly from the local production (same with Passat III Variant). |

I suppose they had cars from BAZ.. My father worked in those times at Slovak police and i was always interested in police cars, so i often asked about them.. And i remember that he told me once that there was a contact between Volkswagen in Bratislava and Slovak police about using their products as their cars |

I also think that 1993(+) "made in SK" is a safe choice, especially if we add to this the '93 partition of Czechoslovakia, but still there is small posibility that very early ones were imported from Germany (like it was e.g. with early Transporters T4 in Polish police - 1st import, then local production). -- Last edit: 2016-07-25 20:46:42 |
