This scene of the takedown of the boss of the Richardson Gang; Charles "Charlie" Richardson who was arrested for torture at the Richardson garage in South London on the afternoon of the 1966 World Cup Final; 30th July 1966. After Charlie Richardson was arrested, police arrested several other Richardson Gang members in a series of raids across South London. In April 1967, the Richardson Gang were convicted of Grievously Bodily Harm, Assault and Fraud and sentenced to 25 years imprisonment, Charlie's brother; Eddie Richardson (in prison on a 5-year stretch for affray), was also convicted and had 10 years added to his existing sentence. -- Last edit: 2019-09-10 15:41:04 |
