I think (and in fact, I'm quite sure) that the side-trim indicates a 1951 Chevrolet Styleline DeLuxe Wagon [JK 2119]. |

Cool, thanks for the info DynaMike. So this is a steel-bodied version with faux-wood treatment? |

Yep, Car Nerd, a real would-be woody. Wooden woodies would have an edgier shape of the rear of the side 'wood'-part, the curved shape shown here is easier to get in steel (and then it can be 'wooded' with paint using a comb instead of a brush). Also at a wooden woody, the filling part lies deeper (or the structural wood sticks out more prominent). I must admit, in the beginning I didn't notice these differences. It was just the chrome side trim that reaches to the rear fender and has a strange stepping shape near the front wheel arch, that made clear it had to be a 1951 version. And then I found out in my catalogue that wooden woodies had their last year in 1949. That's the nice thing of what we do: you think to know something, then you (or someone else) discovers some unseen difference, and then the whole reality-experience is moving to another level. That's big fun! ![]() |

Agreed. That's the best part of this site. More to add to my nerd collection ![]() |
