Sorry Datsun, I knew this ....I just thought you had a special secret way of telling 1961-only plates! ![]() The 'suffix' plate scheme started in fact on Jan 1 1963. However it did not become nationally compulsory until 1965, so a few low-sales areas kept the old system in place until then. Yes, it has the slatted horizontal grille so it is an A110 Westminster, this one most likely 1961 or '62. |

The Austin A110 Westminster was introduced in the autumn of 1961. The numberpalte code 'XP', which was issued for vehcles first registered in London City Center, was discontinued at the end of 1962. The chassis code is ADO53. |
