Was the Italian 132 also sold in Poland? |

Except 132, which came to us through the FSO, there were also "Fiats 132 Special" - they had to be imported directly from Italy, without any changes done in Poland. They were mostly used by the state administration, but possible that some also went on market (when were new). Worth to add that every buyer of the new PF 132p together with manual etc. got also a small plastic bag with original badges of the Italian FIAT and some people placed them on their cars. In later years FSO also perhaps did care less about Polish badges on these cars - they sold them as 132p, but with Italian markings. E.g. the 3rd series of 132p from the years 1977-81 never had Polish badges, the difference was only on nameplate with serial number and in papers. EDIT: Not important in case of car on the pic, but I have to add something to this what I wrote above. In 2015 book of Z. Podbielski about cars made in Socialist countries is 1970s picture of 132 S (Special) with Polski Fiat badge I saw badged this way 132 Special for the 1st time. Unfortunately there is no any comment in book, why it is in such version. However it has there test/temporal reg. plates, so possible that it was just one off example. -- Last edit: 2018-10-27 20:34:28 |
