Studebaker Champion Starliner Coupe ,1953 |
◊ 2006-05-04 15:08 |
This is a 1953 Studebaker Commander Starliner hardtop. On another picture I have from this episode the V8 emblem is visible. The Commander had a V8 while the Champion had the inline 6. The car is painted the original 1953 color Maui Blue with a roof in Nocturne Blue. In Home Improvement series the Studebaker is owned by Tim's neighbor. He inherited it from his father or from some other relative I remember. |

Maybe less loaded and most elegant American car of it's time.. |

You'll get no argument from me, Med! This is considered one of the finest postwar styling designs. |

It's Starlight, no? Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" |

The "Starliner" was a hardtop; the "Starlight" was a coupe ("B" pillar). Hard to tell from photos shown and I haven't seen the episode in years, but I believe this is the former. As well presented as this car was during the episode, there should be more photos available that would show the center pillar area clearly as well as the side ornament to determine if Champion or Commander. (Again, working from memory, I recall it being a Commander.) -- Last edit: 2012-08-27 13:26:43 |

Which was the convertible? |

There were no Studebaker convertibles from 1953 through 1959. |
