1953. Because we can't see either the grille or the gravel shields in front of the rear wheels it is impossible to pick the model. There is about a 60% chance that it is a Windsor. |

I tried to search online but from the book I have Standard Catalog of 1950s Chrysler, it appears that the chrome script was placed on the rear quarter feder in 1954 model year, moved from above the belt line on the front fender as it was in 1953. Also the 1953, as much as I can tell, did not have a chrome separator in the tail light design, however that may be unique to the upper price models, and not just the model year. |

This is a 1954 New Yorker. In 54 there was no script for the Windsor DeLuxe on the rear fender, so this must be a New Yorker [C63-1]. The chassis code refers only to the model series, not the body style. The New Yorker DeLuxe had the "DeLuxe" on a second line below the "New Yorker" script, so you can rule that out without looking for the horizontal bar on the rear fender gravel guard. The tail lights and the fender script are the clues to identifying this car. |
