truck behind is a 4x4 anti Tank Portee,(2pdr), morris Commercial C8..originally built as a carrier for the 2 pound anti tank gun,but when the gun was declared obsolete, all examples were later converted into towing vehicles for the 17 pound anti tank gun..majority of these trucks were employed by airborne forces as the upper structure is strippable and so the whole vehicle could be stowed in either s C47 aircraft or a Horsa Glider. |
