“The scale of oil against the scale of Shetland.” 26 minute documentary on the construction of the Sullom Voe oil refinery - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmtxSQA9ZgA etc . First half has some very pretty pictures and then lots of footage of things being dug or built. A bit cliched about how remote the islands were and how the way of life is unchanged since dinosaurs walked the earth, but interesting for Scottish islands fans. And all Shetland films should show Mousa broch - one of the most amazing examples of prehistoric engineering in Europe. Brochs are only found in Scotland, with nothing else like them anywhere in the world. -- Last edit: 2014-08-10 14:58:33 |
