4th strand of Paul Murton's Grand Tours of Scotland/Scottish things (after Scotland in general, Scottish Islands & Scottish Lochs) for BBC Scotland. No imdb page for Rivers yet - surprising as the others each have one, and it's been flowing (ho-ho!) since 2021 - but here's a BBC programme website, S2 and S3 are on iPlayer at the moment, and they get released on commercial DVDs. Each series is 6 30-minute episodes, but they sometimes get repackaged into double 60-minute eps - I'm sticking to the 6x30 format for timings and ep numbers. As usual with these Murton things, they're not very car heavy - I didn't see anything interesting enough for us in S1 or S2 - but every so often he does an ep with lots of goodies in it. I suspect he's also a car fan underneath his hiking-boots-across-remote-landscapes passion .... Ep 3.01 ("Quietly Flows the Don") is a good example as lots of juicy stuff appears as he tramps around Aberdeenshire and - much to his apparent surprise - stumbles upon the Grampian Transport Museum in Alford. I tried to go once many years ago but it was closed ..... Has a few things which have turned up in recent Scottish films and TV series, and I've been told it's a small but good'un and worth a visit - provided it's open ... Am not posting ordinary backgrounds from this ep (or any others which may pop up in other eps). |

Ep 3.02 is the upper half of Scotland's longest river - the Tay. Only a brief vehicle interlude after about 4 minutes at the Cononish gold mine above Tyndrum. These "Weird scenes inside the goldmine" (60s music reference!) might give Mike some fun?? |

Ep 3.03 continues to the lower half of the Tay - only one entry, a water reed harvester. |

Nothing of interest in S3 eps 4-6. |
