![]() ![]() Alternative Titles: A Thousand Heroes (DVD Title) Katastrophenflug 232 (German Title) Crash - Flug UA 232 (German DVD Title) In Germany it was the Successor to "Miracle Landing" (1990), called Katastrophenflug 243. You see what we did? :P Based on the true story of United Airlines Flight 232: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Airlines_Flight_232 Landing a plane after losing ALL four hydraulics systems is virtually impossible. Many pilots have repeated this scenario in Flight Simulators but did not manage to do this. That more than a half of all passengers survived (185) is a miracle. -- Last edit: 2015-07-18 20:59:27 |

I noticed you did it a day before the 26th anniversary of the crash...was that intentional? |
◊ 2015-07-18 21:11 |
Lol what a coincidence. Absolutely unintentional! Saddly i have only the first scene and the scene directly after the crash in higher quality (but not HD). I dont have the whole movie in this quality. -- Last edit: 2015-07-18 21:23:08 |

![]() What a considerable feat you did for not displaying a single picture showing an aircraft! ![]() Do you have some for http://www.impdb.org/index.php?title=The_Internet_Movie_Plane_Database ? |

I was really tired yesterday and couldnt finish it. Like i said, i will continue today ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 1971 McDonnell Douglas DC-10-10 Registration N1819U United Airlines Flight 232 (Amateur Footage): ![]() ![]() Additional information for the IMPDb entry: United Airlines Flight 232 took off from Stapleton International Airport and was destinated to Philadelphia. After one hour of flight some miles north of Alta, Iowa, the fan disc of the tail mounted engine broke. Two shrapnels of this incident ruptured the hydraulic lines at two locations. That caused to drain out the hydraulics system completely. WIth no power to Engine 2 and damages to the right wing, the plane started to dangerously bank right with nose-down. While the captain had basically no control of anything, the pilot was only able to control the thrust of Engines 1 and 3. Due to this they were able to make right-turns only, with only one single left-turn during the cause of the event (left-turns were possible, but hard to commit under the circumstances). Actually landing on a runway rather than just a strip of grass or something else is almost impossible without hydraulics, but the flight crew managed to crash land on Runway 22. From 285 passengers 185 people survived. A miracle considering the odds. -- Last edit: 2015-07-19 17:56:06 |

What's with this shot: /vehicle_830405-Chevrolet-C-Series.html ? Is it from an actual trailer or just a set photo? If the latter it should be in comments... |
◊ 2015-07-20 15:58 |
Its a promotional photograph, not from set. -- Last edit: 2015-07-20 17:45:35 |

The promotional photo is better off being placed in the movie comments or if the actual scene from the movie shows the Chevy truck, you could add it and then the photo in the vehicle comment page. Also, the 4th gen Chevy and GMC C/K was introduced in 1988, so it's not necessarily an anachronism. |

Okay i deleted the entry. Promotional photograph. The scene was in the movie, but they changed the camera angle. ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-07-20 17:47:02 |

Like I said, if the truck is visible enough in the actual movie scene, it could be added. |

First generation of DC-10 weren't that much reliable , I remember several accident in the early 70's incriminating some problems with this aircraft. Thanks for this work ![]() |

Found the pickup truck in a different scene. Very much background, but not yet "Gamer" level so i think it should be fine. Will add it. /vehicle.php?id=830467 -- Last edit: 2015-07-21 00:17:17 |
