The gasoline price in France was quite similar 60 years ago? assuming one 1955 Franc = 0.02 Euro, this is € 1,75/l

 so in ´55 France allready had inflation leading to Nouveau Franc 1/100 ancient Franc in 1958
hope this is no bad sign for €

Did the war destroy so many civilian cars? At that time these were just old cars, like a car from early 90s now...
