British Transport Films Volume Two: See Britain By Train 2-dvd set. Can only find a short extract online here which has no vehicle content.

Very cliche-ridden and a lot of random connections, but has some fascinating footage and very high quality reproduction. And the weather in the 1950s was obviously much better than nowadays.

During my one year stay in Glasgow I enjoyed an amazing music festival called "Celtic connections", and was surprised to hear music from many nations. The "go" in the music got me and I spent a fortune on tickets for a whole fortnight.

Later I read a comprehensive book on the subject of "Celtic music", (but I'm sorry to say that I have forgotten the title of the book. I really want to read it again!), where I learnt that the Celtic music is not only from Ireland, but also from; Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man, Cornwall, Northen France (Breton) and Northen Spain (Galicia). Also within the Celic music counts countries with plenty of imigrants from those countries mentioned, like USA (Colorado, North Carolina and more) and Canada (south east).
I also read that Celtic Music was forbidden during the English occupation of Ireland and was thus largely forgotten, and some had to be imported from Scotland when it was later being allowed.
The Scottish pipe is rather loud to my ears, but that is for a reason, I read, because in the early days clans could send messages with the pipe as it could be heard for several miles in the highlands. That wouldn't work today with youths doing burnouts and power slides all the time. Probably fun for them, but for me the initial interest disappears after a few (houndred) times when having to listen to it.

Although I like the Scottish pipe I prefer the Uilleann pipe, but I like the fiddle more then any other instrument, with some examples:

 Nice area - have driven through Dalmally a few times, but never stopped - always on the way to somewhere else.
