Though I'm always boycott the Yellow Press, I've heard, that Williams first own car was a Golf II, bought by his Dad, correct? |

I heard it was a Golf 3 :P |

And Diana had a 7-Series BMW, too. A time ago I've read the story, that this car was brought incognito to the "BMW Recycling Zentrum" in the north of München and was wrecked there. Incognito, because a hysteria about an onriginal Lady Di-car had to be avoided. After the car was dismantled and its parts were spreaded to BMW-garages worldwide, the secret was betrayed. |

Note the one (1) British car for appearances... He probably wanted a Porsche. |

There was a rumour after That Crash that British Leyland had been trying to fit a Mercedes engine into a Princess for several years. |

How do you know? Not questioning you, I'm just wondering where you found this out. Between them, the Royal Family must have loads of cars, it's probably difficult to keep up with what they've owned over the years. You didn't mention the Queen's two custom-built Bentley State Limousines (although they may belong to the state rather than her personal property) and all the Rolls-Royces they must have (like the one Charles and Camilla were in during the student riots). Diana also had a maroon Mercedes 500SL (currently in the Mercedes museum in Germany) -- Last edit: 2011-06-19 21:38:26 |

Charles has had a 1980s Aston Martin V8 Volante Link to "newsimg.bbc.co.uk" and he still has the 1969 DB6 Volante that he received for his 21st birthday, which William and Kate drove away in after getting married Link to "www.de2cars.com" There's probably been too many Bentleys, Jaguars, Daimlers Land Rovers and Range Rovers owned by the Royals to mention but interestingly Prince Philip has had his own London black cab for personal use (what we refer to on this site as an Austin FX4 or LTI Fairway, or it might have been the Metrocab). -- Last edit: 2011-06-19 21:45:44 |

I never said I was going to list all of them if I was it would take a long time considering how many people nowadays are connected to royalty, I know for sure because channel 4 did a doc on the royal family and talked to the chaffuear and they went into detail about the royal's cars, and he showed photos |

Was this a recent documentary? Can you remember what it was called? I wasn't asking you to, I know it would be a difficult task And I just mean the core Royal Family (the Queen and her children and grandchildren), not the extended Royal Family Must have missed that one in the tabloids! William probably hasn't driven this flashy motor about in public much for fear of snippy "Is this what our tax money pays for?" comments by the press (even though it's insignificant compared to the upkeep of the palaces and other costs) -- Last edit: 2011-06-19 21:55:10 |

Oh for eff sake... I'm sick and tired about this effing wedding. Enough already. |

What does a discussion about the vehicles of the Royal Family have to do directly with the wedding? And well sandwad2 has the right to add this movie after all |

Yeah, it was a channel 4 doc, might be on 4OD, but have not looked yet, and the Audi R8 was a free gift. -- Last edit: 2011-06-21 16:46:43 (G-MANN) |

Just seen some of this this afternoon. Apart from the 'London' Bristol VRTSL3, there's also a brief glimpse of an AEC Routemaster, but there's some stock footage which includes two different Stagecoach Trident/ALX400 deckers. |
