 Thought this was abysmal till I realised it was a children's programme!
If the Chuckle Brothers were doctors .....

 Strange thing about this childrens tv show is their are no children in it at all !
It's about an elderly incompetent doctor and his many literal prat falls who has a succession of three housekeepers.
Two 70s 'Dolly Bird' types (surely for the dads watching !) in S1 then in S2 er... Pat Coombs !

 Pat Coombs, the thinking man’s crumpet! Probably not.

One of those ladies who seemed, for no apparent reason, to become a fixture in this sort of lowish budget stuff. Other examples, Joan Sanderson, Irene Handl, Patricia Hayes, and Dora Bryan, all of whom managed to be there or thereabouts without quite reaching the dizzy heights. Joan Hickson and June Whitfield achieved another level entirely even if they did appear in some pretty dire stuff as well.

Female versions of Sam Kydd?
