Excellent acting by Mae Clarke in this "forbidden" pre-code from James Whale (flamboyant gay British director) the same year he made Frankenstein. This was banned across the United States and remade in 1940 with a little more doubt on how the heroine makes her living...

 I see that this film was made in the US so I presume most of the cars were sourced from the Universal pool.

 Yes, indeed. It's clear they used whatever cars they could scrape together to recreate WW-I London. Some even pass twice.
