This unusual grille shape wasn't exclusive to Mercedes I suppose? -- Last edit: 2009-08-06 05:18:50 |

Several other German makes used vee radiators but there is a good chance this is a Mercedes 28/95 from maybe just pre WW1(?) -- Last edit: 2009-08-07 10:10:18 |

Hi, I think this is a Mercedes Benz. Split Screen cca 1923 and possibly a Mercedes Knight with only four louvres. Light is shining on the upright of the three pointed star. Unlikely to have been a Taxi in London, especially as a Coupe de Ville. Regards Vintman |

According to my data on the " Pacific Auto Rentals Inc." they had a few Mercedes cars of which one would have been a 1916 .I would agree with nzcarnerd on a 1916 Mercedes 28/95 .It certainly is not a Mercedes- Benz ( Mercedes and Benz merged in 1926) and radiator better matches the 28/95. WW 1 Mercedes 28/95 also could have split windscreens. |
