Film about the British Bobsleighing Team competing in Cortina (the place not the car ! )1960 yields quite a few cars. Can't find on IMDB but - Another Look at Life from Rank films shown as cinema 'fillers '. For some reason few of the films on the Vol. 4 Sport DVD compilation seem to have been listed anywhere. Any names given for the team members? With the Bedfordshire and farming connection, F3 & F1 racing driver and bobsleigh driver, Henry Taylor was born at Shefford, Bedfordshire, to a farming family in 1932. Taylor’s love of speed also saw him become an established bobsleigh driver in the Gt Britain team in the late 1950s. He also drove a Ford Cortina down the bobsleigh run at Cortina d’Ampezzo... From the brief look I had of the bob sleigh run at the 2018 Winter Olympics on tv, I don't think a car would fit down there. Design ideas have changed I guess. -- Last edit: 2018-03-11 20:18:34 |

Thank you JCB. According to this bbc item Robin Dixon's cousin John Bingham who later become the infamous Lord Lucan suggested in 1957 to Dixon he take up bobsleigh, a sport he was unaware of, after being a successful sprinter. -- Last edit: 2018-03-18 19:46:21 |

Very interesting Sunbar , so they did get a Gold eventually ! it all looks very amateurish in this film with wooly jumpers and hand painted mismatched crash helmets for our team. See he also mentions the Land Rover. |
